Getting the Edge on Monica

Worst job:
I was a Busser at the Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone Park. It was an exhausting, intensely physical job but I was soon “promoted” to hostess. I was much better suited to meeting and greeting customers than I was cleaning up after them. My worst job resulted in one of my best.

Favorite quote:
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. – J.R.R. Tolkien

Favorite thing to do outside of work:
Geocaching — the only other tech related thing in my life besides EdgeLink. I love to hike and explore, so geocaching suites me perfectly. I may not always know where I am, but I’m not lost.

Chase – my orange tabby cat – named for Chevy Chase, one of the Three Amigos.

Who inspires you:
My Family is most important to me. They encourage and support me every step of the way.

Favorite food:
Homemade Mexican food. I grew up in New Mexico, so it tastes like home.

Favorite music:
Alternative. Portland’s 94.7 FM is the greatest radio station.

Favorite hobbies:
I use geocaching as a great excuse to go hiking, camping, and see all sorts of new and interesting places. I also like to occasionally go fishing, crabbing, and clamming with my father and brother. Baking is another passion of mine as I really enjoy experimenting and partaking in the fruits of my labor. Oregon and Washington also have some great opportunities for berry picking, so I’ve been known to travel far and wide to find the tastiest gems. Huckleberries.
