For over eight years, John has been working in the Pacific Northwest’s technical staffing industry. In his role as Senior Technical Recruiter, John is responsible for recruiting IT professionals, mentoring junior recruiters, and leading and providing a positive example for teammates. He contributes towards the morale and effectiveness of everyday operations within the office, but more importantly, he is responsible for building working relationships with IT professionals and making a difference in a positive way. Prior to EdgeLink, John worked as a Senior Recruiter for various global staffing organizations. He also worked onsite at Intel Corporation for a recognized vendor focused on staffing contingent workers. There, John also worked as a Partnered Staffing Manager where he served in management, strategic planning, operational effectiveness, and marketing roles in partnership with Intel managers. Before becoming a recruiter, John served as a District Executive and Ranger for the Boy Scouts of America. He continues to be an active outdoorsman and volunteer. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Hawaii. He enjoys backpacking, snowboarding, mountain biking, movies, popsicles, and "deep or funny conversations." Getting the Edge on John Something no one knows about you: I have three tattoos. First job: Archery Instructor – I worked at Camp Pupukea for the Boy Scouts of America in Hawaii. It was my first job during the summer before my freshman year in college. I taught young teenagers how to make arrows and shoot them at targets. Good times! Favorite quote: “Nothing worthwhile was ever accomplished — without the vision to start; the enthusiasm to continue; and besides temporary setbacks, the persistence to complete.” - Waite Philips Favorite things to do outside of work: Golf, hike, backpack, ride my bike, soccer, snowboard. Pet(s): Sprocket the Great (The coolest cat in the world!). Who inspires you? My parents have been a constant influence in my life. They epitomize the “American Dream” — immigrating to the U.S. and working hard for a better family life. They have done well and I take humble pride in being their son. Things your mother would approve of: Cleanliness, religion, education, family and thriftiness. Favorite food: Cheeseburgers with chili and cucumbers, and Strawberry Malts. Favorite music: Acoustical Rock with an injection of Reggae. Favorite hobbies: Reading, gourmet cooking and philanthropy. |
