Gina is a Technical Recruiter at EdgeLink, responsible for recruiting IT professionals, maintaining long-term relationships with candidates, and most importantly, positively impacting the lives of everyone she has the pleasure of meeting. She works closely with her colleagues to provide the best-matched opportunities and provide her candidates with multiple resources, and coaches and mentors them through the process of searching for their next great job. Gina came to EdgeLink in the fall of 2007 with 23 years of retail management experience, where she found herself a natural at recruiting personnel.

Gina lives in the Portland area with her husband and cat. She is an avid Harley rider, loves to garden and watch her backyard birds. You can usually find her and her husband West Coast Dancing with friends on Friday and Saturday nights at their favorite dance hall or at the “Storeybook Dance Hall” they have created in their home.

Something no one knows about you:
I love tattoos and if I could I would be covered.

 

Worst job:
Bean Picker. When I was a little girl my Mom used to take me to the bean fields and we would pick burlap bags full of beans all day long to earn some extra money. At the end of the day I would be excited to get the money, but it was hard work and I think I took a lot of breaks and my Mom would yell at me a lot to get back to work. The best part of this job would be when the ice cream man came around selling ice cream bars out of his trunk. I would always get an Eskimo Pie…

 

First job:
Sales Associate at Meier and Frank at Lloyd Center: This was a great job because it paid for my college and I met some great people there.  It also introduced me to the public. Yikes!!!  I cried the first time I got yelled at by a customer.  I wound up staying there for several years and was promoted to a management role. I met some lifelong friends there.

Favorite thing to do outside of work:
Ride my Harley.  My favorite rides include Mt. St. Helens, Lake Tahoe and Route 66 through Arizona.

 

Pet:
A cat named Maddie. (Her nickname is Pooder Pooh.)

 

Who inspires you?
My mom.

 

Things your mother would approve of:
My happiness.

 

Favorite food:
Turkey meatballs, sweet potato fries, spaghetti squash; anything fresh and healthy.

 

Favorite music:
Country, oldies (70’s and 80’s).

 

Favorite hobbies:
Gardening and back yard birdwatching.
