EdgeLink Earns Spot as 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon for
Fourth Consecutive Year Company jumps 10 spots to 15th among small companies named on Oregon Business Magazine list Portland, OR (March 24, 2010)—EdgeLink, a boutique technology staffing firm, earned a spot among Oregon Business Magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon for the fourth consecutive year; proving their sense of leadership and caring, along with a good dose of fun, makes a difference to their employees. More than 300 companies participated in Oregon Business Magazine’s 17th annual ranking, which analyzes Oregon companies’ best practices in cultivating great places to work. Nearly 20,000 employees completed the survey, ranking EdgeLink 15th among the Top 33 Small Companies this year, moving up 10 spots from last year’s ranking. The magazine breaks the list into small, medium and large companies based on the number of employees worldwide. Overall, EdgeLink ranked 32nd among the 100 companies named to the list. “It’s not surprising that the category of ‘decision-making and trust’ held up the strongest in the overall survey this year. These are among EdgeLink’s guiding principles and have contributed to our company’s success,” said Gina Storey, Senior Recruiter for EdgeLink. “We employees are inspired by our company’s strong leadership and their sense of loyalty to us, to our success and to the success of our clients. It’s truly a great place to work.” For the 2010 list of the Top 33 Small Companies, EdgeLink was among 19 companies that made the list again from 2009, and among only nine of the companies that improved their overall ranking. Companies were scored based on their average employee rating and benefits survey, with a total possible score of 600. “As a staffing business going into the recession, we knew clients would cut back on hiring and that business was going to be tough,” said Jeff Miller, Founder and Managing Director for EdgeLink. “We decided to take a different approach and embrace the downturn as an opportunity to help our team grow. We believe in everyone here and worked really hard last year to further improve our internal work environment to help create positive morale and a stronger work culture. As a result, our team embraced what we’re doing and that directly translated to the best possible service for our clients. I’m really proud of our team and to be named to this notable list for the fourth consecutive year. ” “I have worked with EdgeLink for 10 years and I’ve always had a great experience,” said Rick McClure, Senior QA Engineer for ClearAccess. “You can tell they’ve created a strong culture by the people they put on our projects. They work hard to ensure that every project they complete is of the highest quality. They care about representing EdgeLink in a positive light; and that speaks volumes. ” The 2010 100 Best Company rankings are based on confidential employee surveys and a benefits report completed by each company. To participate, companies had to have at least 20% of their Oregon workforce complete the survey, which asked employees to rank companies in categories including: benefits and compensation, work environment, decision-making and trust, performance management, and career development and learning. For the employer survey, company representatives answered more than 50 questions covering a comprehensive set of benefits including health and wellness plans, time off, family-friendly policies, work scheduling, incentives, retirement plans and corporate culture.
